Lithium ion battery model

Lithium Ion cells have become a ubiquitous technology in portable electronic devices and electric vehicles due to their high energy density and low maintenance requirements. In this example, the dependence of cell voltage on state of discharge and temperature is modeled, while short-term effects such as voltage and current transients are neglected. A typical curve for the output voltage versus the state of discharge is shown below.
