Sigma-Delta Modulation and You!

Sigma-Delta modulation is becoming increasingly common in modern power electronics applications. Its reliability and noise resistance make it a clear choice for many designs, and some peripherals are coming to market with built-in Sigma-Delta bitstream outputs (for example, this new current sensor from LEM: https://www.lem.com/en/hmsr-series).

With PLECS, you can easily generate code to configure the Sigma-Delta Filter Module for the TI C2000 series of microcontrollers, making demodulation a breeze. You can also simulate the effects of modulation and demodulation of a signal in our offline simulation mode.
