This video corresponds to the STM32 code generation demo model of Sensorless Field-Oriented Control (FOC) of a permanent-magnet synchronous machine (PMSM). This model features a drive system with a three-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor, with a sinusoidal back-emf. A rotor position and speed observer is used for a sensorless field oriented control (FOC) strategy as part of a closed-loop cascaded controller with an inner d and q axis current control loop and an outer speed control loop. The control model can be converted to embedded code for the STM32G4x or STM32F3x microcontroller (MCU) families from STMicroelectronics.
