Embedded Office Hours: Controller & Filter Discretization with PLECS

From Continuous to Discrete: Controller & Filter Discretization with PLECS

Engineers often design filters and controllers in the continuous domain - it's more intuitive and makes tuning straightforward. But when it comes time to implement them in hardware, we are forced to discretize. And the method you choose for discretization can have a big impact on your system's performance and stability!

In our next Embedded Office Hours session we will explore different discretization approaches like Forward Euler, Backward Euler, and Tustin/Bilinear transformation. We will discuss maintaining stability in discrete implementations and show real examples of optimizing PLECS models for embedded targets. We'll have plenty of time for your specific questions too.

"The seminars combined with hands-on training provided by application engineers from Plexim are packed with insightful tips and techniques. Let me paraphrase newspaper editor Arthur Brisbane here. A Plexim workshop is worth a thousand page long manual. Be there!"
